Directions - From Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC Area: Follow I-95 South to its intersection with I-85 South in Petersburg, Virginia. Stay on I-85 South into North Carolina. Near Durham, I-85 will run concurrently with I-40 West. Stay on I-40 when they diverge. Traffic may be slow through the Greensboro area due to construction. On the west side of Winston-Salem, take the exit for Highway 421 North (Yadkinville, Wilkesboro). Follow Highway 421 North to Boone. At the intersection of Highway 421 and Highway 105 Extension (there will be big overhead "interstate-type" signs to help with directions), turn left on Highway 105 Extension. Follow Highway 105 for approximately 6.5 miles. At a traffic light after crossing the Watauga River Bridge, turn right on Broadstone Road (State Road 1112). Go about 3 miles. You'll see the Mast Store Annex (white building with a red tin roof) on the right. The entrance to Valle Crucis School is immediately after the Annex on the right. This is the ride start/finish. Parking will be beyond the school 2/10's of a mile on your right. Follow parking signs.

Directions - Directions from Cincinnati, Ohio: Take I-75 South to Corbin, Kentucky. In Corbin, take Highway 25E to Middleboro, Kentucky and Tazewell, Tennessee. South of Tazewell, you'll need to pick up 11W to Kingsport, Tennessee. In Kingsport, take I-181 South. Follow I-181 South to Highway 321 South in Johnson City, Tennessee. You'll follow Highway 321 through Elizabethton to a small community called Hampton, Tennessee.

In Hampton you have two options to bring you to Valle Crucis: Option 1 is to follow Highway 321 South. This route is a bit more curvy and brings you by Watauga Lake. If you choose this route, bear left on Highway 321 in Hampton. Follow 321 to its intersection with Highway 421. At this intersection, bear right. Go approximately 1 mile and turn right on Highway 194 (there's a green sign directing you to Valle Crucis). Follow Highway 194 by the Mast General Store, Valle Crucis Elementary School. This is the ride start/finish.
Option 2 is to stay straight on Highway 19E. This route is a bit straighter and is multi-lane part of the way. Follow 19E all the way to Newland, North Carolina. At the intersection with Highway 181 in Newland, turn lef t on Highway 181. Follow that to the intersection with Highway 105 North in Linville (there will be a large yellow Grandfather Mountain sign on the right). At this traffic light, turn left on Highway 105 North. Go approximately 12 miles to a traffic light before crossing the Watauga River Bridge. At this light, turn left on Broadstone Road (State Road 1112). Go about 3 miles. Directions - From Columbus, Ohio, Huntington, Charleston West Virginia: Take Highway 23 South to Huntington, West Virginia. From there take Interstate 64 East to Charleston, West Virginia. In Charleston, pick up the West Virginia Turnpike (I-77, I-64) to Bluefield, Virginia. Continue on I-77 South to its intersection with Highway 421. Take the exit marked Wilkesboro (North Wilkesboro). This will be Highway 421 North. Follow Highway 421 North to Boone. At the intersection of Highway 421 and Highway 105 Extension (there will be big overhead "interstate-type" signs to help with directions), turn left on Highway 105 Extension. Follow Highway 105 for approximately 6.5 miles. At a traffic light after crossing the Watauga River Bridge, turn right on Broadstone Road (State Road 1112). Go about 3 miles. Go to the traffic light and the intersection with Highway 105 North. At this traffic light, turn left on Highway 105 North.
